The Sri Chakra, also known as Sri Yantra, is a complex geometric symbol in Hinduism, representing the cosmos and the union of the divine masculine and feminine energies. It is considered one of the most powerful and auspicious symbols in Hindu spiritual tradition. The Sri Chakra is often used in the worship of the Divine Mother, Devi, particularly in the form of Goddess Lalita or Tripura Sundari.
Structure
The Sri Chakra is made up of nine interlocking triangles that surround and radiate out from a central point (bindu). These triangles are oriented in such a way that five of them point downwards, symbolizing the feminine (Shakti), and four point upwards, symbolizing the masculine (Shiva).
BrahmaSri Tejomurthula Balabhaskarasharma founded the Devi Ashram in 2003 in the tranquil embrace of Kunchala Kurmaiyapet, at the crossroads of Srikakulam town and Navabharat. The spiritual journey of the ashram commenced with the sanctification of the Rajarajeshwari Devi Panchaloha idol (Chara) on 27th October 2004, followed by the installation of the SaiBaba idol on 10th May 2005. The divine assembly was further graced by the presence of Sri Rajarajvera Sahita Rajeswaradu, Lakshmi Ganapati, Suryanarayanaswamy, and Sitaram on 26th September 2006.
A momentous event unfolded on 23rd November 2008 during the Koti Kumkumarchana Yagam; Sri Balabhaskarasharma witnessed the divine manifestation of the kumkum as a grand Mahameru, encircled by 1000 Sri Chakrameruvs, guiding the architectural vision of the temple. The cornerstone of the main temple was laid in 2009, culminating in the consecration of the principal deity, Sri Rajarajeshwari Ammavari Moolavirattu, in 2010.
The spiritual aura intensified in 2011 with the Prana pratishta ceremonies of Subrahmanya Swamy and Saraswati Devi. The ashram’s spiritual tapestry was further enriched in 2012 with the Shodasha Ganapatiyagam and Athirudra Yagam, leading to the installation of 1001 Srichakras on 15th November 2013.
An architectural marvel, the Shiva Temple, designed as Kailasa Prasthara, became a sanctuary of divinity on 3rd November 2014, housing 1116 Shivalingas, each a testament to the ashram's commitment to preserving and nurturing the essence of sacred spirituality.
We do daily pujas and rituals for the peace and harmony of the world. Along with the pujas the temple does ample service to the nearby villages and people. Annadanam, Gau shala and many other activities are performed.
The temple never charges devotees for any regular service rendered.
